Zoos have become key players in the preservation of wildlife. Without us, many species could not survive.<\/p>\n
You should know that more than 50% of the species that live in our Oasis are included in the ‘Red List’ of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and that, in recent years, around twenty animals born in our centre have been released into their natural habitat.<\/p>\n
At Oasis we collaborate in 31 ex-situ management programmes for endangered species, i.e. outside their natural habitats, working with important international programmes such as the European Endangered Species Programmes (EEP) and European StudBooks (ESB).<\/p>\n
At our zoo we only choose projects where our experience and capacity allows us to bring our full potential to save those who need us. We work with key partners in biodiversity protection, such as the Iberian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AIZA) and the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA).<\/p>\n
